Dina Tigeleiro

Dina Tigeleiro is a graduate of the University of Florida, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy, with Minors in Physics and Dance. Dina began her dance training when she was 13, at ArtStage Performing Arts Center, in Jupiter, FL. It was there she received Ballet instruction from Linda A. White, Artistic Director, and Charles E. Russell, former Executive Assistant to Robert Joffrey, and a former teacher at Joffrey’s American Ballet Center. She trained in a variety of other styles too including Jazz, Modern, Acrobatics, Musical Theater, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop. In college, Dina received further Ballet training from Isa Garcia-Rose, formerly of Dance Alive National Ballet. She also studied various techniques of Modern dance under Trent D. Williams, and several other visiting choreographers and professional dance companies, such as the Martha Graham Dance Company, and the Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater Company, who selected Dina to perform one of their original works, Islands. Dina was also a company member for six years in Floridance, UF’s original student-run dance company, and served for one year as the Publicity Officer on their Executive Board. During this time, Dina created several solo/duo/trio & group pieces, and collaborated with other choreographers within the company. As a Dance Instructor, Dina is very passionate about choreography and telling stories through movement. Dina’s love for Ballet and Modern technique continue to inspire her works, and she has created top-scoring competition routines ranging from solos to group pieces. Dina is also a certified Acrobatic Arts Instructor, and teaches with a professional curriculum that allows students to combine Acro with Dance through progressive training, that is both safe and effective for dancers, and the art of dance.
